Copyright & Licences
Who owns the app, who owns what you put in it, and the open-source work it stands on.
The short version
- The app's code, design and name belong to Divyaprakash.
- Everything you put into it belongs to you. That never changes.
- Free to use is not the same as free to copy — no licence to the source is granted here.
- The open-source components it is built on keep their own licences, listed below.
The app itself
© 2025–2026 Divyaprakash. All rights reserved.
Copyright in Personal Manager — its source code, its database design, its stylesheet, its icon and its written content, this page included — is held by Divyaprakash. The name Personal Manager and the mark it appears with are his too.
The app is given away free to use, and the Terms & Conditions set out how far that goes: use it for your own affairs, for as long as you like, at no cost. That is a permission to use the app, and no more than that. No rights in the source are transferred by using it, and no open-source licence is granted over the app's own code.
So, without written permission, please do not copy or republish the source, rebrand it as your own, or run it as a paid service. If you want to do any of those, ask — the address is one page away, and the answer is more likely yes than you might expect.
What you put in is yours
Your transactions, notes, diary entries, tasks, attachments and vault items are your property and your copyright. Nothing in these pages claims a licence over them, and nothing in the app is built on the assumption of one. They are stored to be shown back to you, and for nothing else.
You can take them out at any time, in a form other software can read — see Import & Export and Backups.
Open-source components
Personal Manager stands on the work of others, used under the terms of their licences. Copyright in each remains with its own authors, and the notices below are reproduced as those licences ask.
- .NET, ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core for the runtime, the web server and the database layer MIT licence · © .NET Foundation and contributors
- .NET MAUI for the Android and Windows app that hosts the same screens on a device MIT licence · © .NET Foundation and contributors
- Bootstrap for the base the app's stylesheet is built on MIT licence · © The Bootstrap Authors
- SQLite for the database engine behind the server's store and the copy on your device Public domain · D. Richard Hipp and contributors
- SQLCipher for encrypting the whole database file on a phone or laptop BSD 3-Clause licence · © Zetetic LLC
- SQLitePCLRaw for the bridge that lets .NET talk to both of the above Apache 2.0 licence · © Eric Sink and contributors
- ClosedXML for reading and writing Excel workbooks for import and export MIT licence · © ClosedXML contributors
- PDFsharp and MigraDoc for producing PDF statements MIT licence · © empira Software GmbH
- AndroidX libraries for background sync and platform support on Android Apache 2.0 licence · © The Android Open Source Project
The MIT and BSD licences, and the Apache 2.0 licence, each permit this use provided their copyright notices travel with the software. That is what this list is for. Full licence texts are published by each project, and ship with the packages themselves.
If something here is wrong
Attribution lists go stale; it is the ordinary failure mode of a page like this. If a component is missing, credited to the wrong holder, or listed under the wrong licence, that is a mistake rather than a position — write to Prakash3300@gmail.com and it will be corrected.
The same address takes any claim that material in the app infringes someone's copyright. Say what the work is, where it appears, and how you are connected to it, and it will be looked at properly.
The rest of the small print
- Terms & Conditions The agreement between you and the app: what you may do with it, and what is asked of you.
- Privacy Policy What is collected, where it is kept, who can read it and how to get it back out.
- Disclaimer The limits of what the app promises, and what it is not a substitute for.
- Contact Us How to reach the person who maintains the app, and what to include.
